Need help in appraising and identifying your doll? We identify and conduct doll appraisals for private collectors, antique dealers, and museums. We appraise individual dolls and collections, including estate collections. We conduct two types of appraisals:
assessments - we identify and estimate a value. Client's use this service to identify the origin of their doll and/or when they are preparing to sell it.
insurance appraisals - identify doll, determine reference (edition, date, page), establish value, photograph the doll, research history, and generate multi-page report. Client's use this more formal service for insurance purposes and/or for their doll's historical archive.
We also package and index collections for storage or shipment. This packaging service is especially helpful to the designated 'executor of the will' at typically a very emotional time.
As your doll appraiser, we will identify your doll or collection based on markings and other identifiable characteristics. We will value the doll based on current book values, market trends, workmanship, condition and other relevant features. This value is primarily an insurance value but can be used to establish a resale value. However, be aware that in a buyer's market the resale value may be significantly deflated. Finally, we will provide to you a signed appraisal report including photographs. This report establishes that your doll or collection existed at a certain point in time, useful for insurance claims.
