Cracked Broken Composition Doll Head - Doll Hospital Case History

Case history of a cracked broken composition doll head

Restored Cracked Composition Doll Body by A Timeless Doll Hospital

This restored composition doll head is a perfect example of a "premium restoration", a complete restoration.  The condition of this doll is extremely bad. Any idea what the monetary value would be? Fortunately for this little doll the sentimental value was very high to it's owner.

Normally we do not receive dolls in such an advanced state of deterioration and disrepair. However, being made of sawdust, cornstarch, paint, and glue the environment in which this doll was kept accelerated the damage.

We stabilized the cracks, removed material that could not be repaired, filled the holes and sculpted details.  We then took great care in repainting the flesh and then detail painting the dolls' original features.
