Repainted Composition Doll - Doll Hospital Case History

Case history of a repainted composition doll

Restored Repainted Composition Doll by A Timeless Doll Hospital

This is an old composition doll that had been worked on prior to arriving in our hospital. We did the minor repairs and touched up the painting to correct this poor quality painting. We repaired only what was necessary to stop damage and repair bad workmanship.

Notice the bubbles between the eyes and nose. The owner of this doll chose to leave them alone as they were still intact. We often see this manufacturing defect, common to composition dolls. Typically, these bubbles are broken when we get the doll. The wood and resin base is exposed and unsightly to many owners.
